I have learned to empower myself by having gone through years of my youth giving my power away, to be taken advantage of to the point of my own depletion. Being in situations in which I felt powerless to my circumstances, to the relationships I was surrounded by, and by the limited choices I had to choose from.
I approached life passively, taking what I was handed and making the best of it, making do - settling.
I learned to make lemonade out of my lemons. I learned to be resourceful in turning one man's trash into another one's treasure. I learned to value all that I acquire as I have known to have been without. I have learned to work hard to empower myself to live the life that I do.
When you are empowered, it is quiet in essence, but loud in its impact. You are free.
You make choices that are right for you, you choose your lifestyle, you choose who and what fills your life, you choose how you want to live that sets your soul free.
Personal freedom is empowerment.
You get the luxury of creating the life that you want, not just taking what is handed to you to make do. To know that you have it within you all along to be a creator - to be the captain of your own ship, steering the direction and indulging in experiences along your voyage.
It does not lord over others as when you are empowered, you are truly living as you intend without restrictions, not forcing your own way of living on others or encroaching upon their right to live theirs as they do. You have the beautiful freedom to make choices that suit you, make you happy, make you feel at peace within. The freedom to live intentionally.
The result? Your spirit soars.
This freedom is not free. It is something you must have actively worked hard for to acquire. You apply your skills sets and consistent work ethic to better your life, in using the resources you have procured for yourself to put it towards those choices that are reflective of living intentionally.
When you have worked for the life that you live, this is also empowerment to instill a sense of pride that you did it for yourself, you will thus value every effort it took, as -
You value every drop of water when you have learned to carry your own bucket. - Unknown
May you work towards a life that fills you up and empowers you to live freely. You then grant your soul to soar in living your best life at whatever stage of growth you find yourself.
Empower yourself. Be free, my dear.
With LOVE. Always,
