Beauty can so easily be equated with vanity.
I personally have felt shame about my own beauty and natural affinity for beautiful things because of this perception placed on me as I was developing.
Yet, my soul was always drawn to making things pretty, to appreciate beautiful things and people, and create a beautiful environment for home where it is my happy place - my sanctuary. I've always approached my life as when given one man's trash, turning it into another one's treasure in repurposing, fixer-uppering, or completely transforming something.
Beauty really is, as they say, in the eye of the beholder.
I see patina of something aged, worn from being kept and loved for so long.
I see the indentations of hands that crafted a one-of-kind piece of art.
I see scars of the beauty of having fought battles to gain strength from being forged in fire.
I see cracks that show something can seem broken, and yet be solidly whole.
I see the smile in the light of one's eyes despite the lips uttering a story to cause a frown.
I see the imperfections that make something uniquely perfect.
I see the flaws that make something authentic.
Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
With LOVE. Always,
